BHARMOUR A place blessed with deep beauty

Formally known as Brahmpura, Bharmour was the ancient capital of Chamba district, India. Situated at an altitude of 7000 feet in the Budhil valley , forty miles to the south-east of Chamba, Bharmour is known for its scenic beauty and for its ancient temples. Some of the temples are believed to date from 10th century. As the whole country around Bharmour is supposed to belong to lord Shiva, it is popularly spoken of as Shiva Bhumi, abode of lord Shiva.

BHARWAIN Near Chintpurni

Satis feet fell at Chintpurni and the devoute come here to leave their worries and pray for their boons.The legend goes that the temple came into being after the goddess revealed herself to Maya Dass,an ardent devotee.The temple is built around the Devis pindi.Her image depicts her without a head, it is said that she cut it of to assuage the blood thirst of her companions. CHAMBA A Century aged Ancient Town

CHAMUNDA Famous for Chamundaji Temple

Chronicled in the Durga Sapt Shati, the story goes that on the orders of Shamb and Ni Shamb, two demons tried to harass the goddess Ambika. Enraged, Ambika knitted her brows and from the folds a horrifying from of Kali emerged. After a great battle, the goddess Kali slew the two demons, Chand and Mund. Delighted by Kalis achievement, Ambika declared that she would now be worshipped here as Chamunda a combination of the demons names. Chamunda Devi temple is at height of 1000m.

KEYLONG A Stopover to stay on Manali Leh road

How to reach:
By road the distance is 115 km from Manali, 188 km from Kaza, 373 km from Leh, 435 km from Chandigarh and 690 km from Delhi. KHAJJIAR A Mini Switzerland

Often called Indias Switzerland, the exquisite glade of Khajjiar 1960m has a circumference of about 5 km. Within the temple are life size wooden images of the five Pandav brothers.

The Pong Dam also known as the Maharana Pratap Sagar reservoir is an earth fill embankment dam on the Beas River just upstream of Talwara in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India. Solan is the district headquarter of Solan District in the Indian State of Himachal Pradesh.The Place is named after the Hindu Goddess Shoolini Devi. Solan is also known as Mushroom City of India because of the vast mushroom farming in the area.
How to reach:
Solan district can be reached both ways, through Shimla as well as through Chandigarh. There are regular buses to this route. Journey can also be done via Train.
Place climate:
In winter, the temperature can drop to below freezing point when heavy woolens are required and in summers light woolens or cottons are recommended.

The nearest airport, broad gauge railhead is at Chandigarh, 86 km. Bilaspur is 40 km. Regular Taxis and buses are available from Bilaspur

THEOG

Theog is a town and a municipal committee in Shimla district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is situated on National Highway NH22 on the Hindustan Tibet Road is 32 km away from Shimla and is a town of five Ghats.Their main occupation is growing vegetables. How to reach:
Theog can be reached by taking bus from Shimla. Taxi services are also available.
